On June 24, 2026, "Wuchuanhui" · Wuhan Proof-of-Concept Center (Jianghan University), with the theme of "Anchoring the new brain-computer track to power the new health industry", was held in Jianghan University. As the core industrial partner of Jianhan University in the field of medicine and engineering, Ren Lai Rehabilitation has participated in the incubation and application of the second batch of projects, and several brain-computer rehabilitation intelligent equipment projects jointly built by the company have been successfully signed, marking the key step of the industry-university-research cooperation between the two parties from laboratory verification to industrialization in the frontier track of brain-computer interface.

Focusing on the new track of brain-computer rehabilitation, school-enterprise collaboration to overcome the "first kilometer"

At the event, Jia Yongsheng, member of the Party Committee and vice president of Jianhan University, pointed out that the university is closely related to the strategy of building a national science and technology innovation center in Wuhan, relying on the municipal proof of concept center to deeply develop the characteristic track of medicine and engineering intersection and brain-computer rehabilitation, and is committed to opening up the "first kilometer" of the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

The six projects included in this centralized road show focus on brain-computer intervention, intelligent rehabilitation equipment, sleep digital therapy and other directions that people's livelihood needs. These projects include "Research and development and proof of concept of neurofeedback intervention system for respiratory chronic diseases based on electroencephalogram biomarkers", "Research on intelligent transport chair based on motor imagery brain computer interface", "Intensive care electroencephalogram monitoring - New multifunctional intelligent rehabilitation bed" and other frontier projects. These projects have a high technical maturity and strong marketability, which fully demonstrate the great potential of innovative achievements in the interdisciplinary field of medicine and engineering to serve people's life and health.

Ruan Cong, a first-level researcher of Wuhan Bureau of Science and Technology Innovation, pointed out that the municipal proof-of-concept center is an important carrier to improve the city's achievement incubation system and enable industrial upgrading. At present, it has gradually formed a complete transformation chain of "R&D - verification - financing - industrialization". Wuhan Proof-of-Concept Center (Jianghan University) has focused on the characteristic track of intelligent health equipment, which has strongly supported the development of the city's medical and engineering cross industry. The Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology Innovation will do a good job in service guarantee from three aspects: optimizing policy layout, deepening the linkage between districts and schools, and unblocking investment and financing channels. At the same time, it hopes that universities will continue to output high-quality results, scientific research teams will keep close to the market to polish products, and industrial capital will participate in cooperation to jointly expand the intelligent health industry in Wuhan.

Xuan Liang, director of Wuhan Proof-of-Concept Center (Jianghan University), introduced that the center provides four full-cycle services, including hardware experiments and clinical scenarios, cross-field expert think tanks, industrial capital docking, and policy declaration support, for the database projects free of charge, and is committed to solving the pain points of the "death valley" of achievement transformation. This means that the brain-computer interface rehabilitation device jointly developed by RHRR and Jianghan University will obtain systematic acceleration from prototype iteration, clinical verification to market docking.

Deep cultivation of the intersection of medicine and engineering, from the first batch of storage to continuous guidance

Renlai Rehabilitation has a long history of cooperation with Jianghan University. In May 2025, the Proof-of-Concept Center of Jianhan University was successfully selected into the filing list of the first batch of proof-of-concept centers in Wuhan, focusing on the cross-innovation of medicine and engineering in the field of high-end equipment, especially the development of "health-health-care" devices. As an important industrial partner of the center, the "Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Manufacturing of Medical Equipment" jointly built by RenlaiRehabilitation and Jianghan University has already taken root. The two sides have made significant achievements in the research and development of cutting-edge intelligent rehabilitation equipment such as isokinetic test and training system, upper limb exoskeleton robot, lower limb exoskeleton robot and so on.

 

The successful entry of the second batch of BCI projects is a milestone for the cooperation between the two sides to expand from the traditional rehabilitation robot field to the brain-computer interface and neural rehabilitation field with higher technical threshold. On the day of the event, the relevant responsible person of the Wuhan Industrial Development Fund and the Cooperation Department of the Wuhan Venture Capital Fund preached the "Spark Seed Plan" on the spot, saying that they would continue to strengthen the concept of fund and service, and increase the investment layout around the field of biological health. This provides a good capital docking channel for the industrialization financing of the brain-computer interface project for human rehabilitation.

From the first batch of projects in 2025 to the signing of the second batch of brain-computer interface projects in 2026, the cooperation between RRD and Jianhan University will continue to deepen. In the future, relying on Wuhan Proof-of-Concept Center, both sides will continue to focus on frontier fields such as brain-computer interface and multimodal rehabilitation robots, and jointly explore new paths of medical and engineering cross innovation.
